Product overview
Chemlok 6108GB is a solvent-based covercoat adhesive for bonding a broad range of elastomers to metal. It is normally applied over Chemlok 205GB or 207GB primer and can be used as a one-coat treatment in selected applications.
Key benefits
- Compatible with a broad range of general-purpose and specialty elastomers.
- Uses a non-chlorinated solvent system.
- Provides resistance to heat, oils, and salt spray.
- Can be applied by spray, brush, or dip.
Compatible elastomers
Natural rubber (NR), polyisoprene (IR), polybutadiene (BR), polychloroprene (CR), nitrile rubber (NBR), styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), butyl rubber (IIR), and EPDM.
Application guidance
Prepare the metal before applying Chemlok 205GB or 207GB primer. Allow the primer to dry, then apply 6108GB by spray, brush, or dip. A typical dry-film thickness is 17.8–25.4 μm (0.7–1.0 mil). The adhesive cures during rubber vulcanization.
