Product overview
Chemlok 6411GB is a versatile, solvent-based covercoat for bonding rubber compounds to metal. It is generally applied over Chemlok 205GB or 207GB primer and can be used as a one-coat adhesive in selected applications.
Key benefits
- Covers a wide range of general-purpose and specialty elastomers.
- Resists heat, oil, and corrosive conditions.
- Can be applied by brush, roll coat, dip, or spray.
- Offers selected one-coat capability in addition to primer-and-covercoat use.
Compatible elastomers
Natural rubber (NR), polyisoprene (IR), polybutadiene (BR), polychloroprene (CR), nitrile rubber (NBR), styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), EPDM, chlorinated polyethylene (CPE), and chlorosulfonated polyethylene (CSM).
Application guidance
Prepare the metal before applying Chemlok 205GB or 207GB primer. Allow the primer to dry, then apply 6411GB by brush, roll coat, dip, or spray. A typical dry-film thickness is 12.7–25.4 μm (0.5–1.0 mil). Dry until the solvent has evaporated before bonding.
