Product overview
Chemlok 6150GB bonds a range of elastomers to metal, plastic and fabric substrates. It uses a non-chlorinated solvent system and can be applied as a single coat or as the covercoat in a two-coat system.
Materials and system selection
The elastomer range includes NR, IR, SBR, BR, CR, NBR, IIR, EPDM and ECO. Chemlok 6150GB also provides high tear and cohesive strength and is suitable for plated-metal bonding applications.
Most applications require one coat. Select the dry-film thickness for one-coat use or for application over a primer.
Surface preparation and coating
Remove oils, grease, rust and oxide layers before application. Coat cleaned stainless steel, aluminum, brass and other nonferrous substrates within 30 minutes.
Thoroughly stir before use and maintain agitation to keep the dispersed solids suspended. Apply a uniform film by brush, dip, roll coat or spray. Use a dry-film thickness of 17.8–30.5 μm for a one-coat system, or 15.2–20.3 μm when applying over a primer.
