Materials and molding processes
Hongtu HT 4421 is a fluoropolymer solution in water for releasing molded rubber and plastic parts. Its dry, colorless film adheres to steel mold surfaces and allows repeated releases after application.
Suitable rubbers include natural rubber (NR), nitrile rubber (NBR), polybutadiene rubber (BR) and EPDM. It is suitable for injection, transfer and compression molding.
Hot-mold spray application
Apply to a clean, hot mold using compressed-air spray equipment. For the first application, spray at least three thin, even coats, allowing 30 seconds between coats for water to evaporate. Heat for 5 minutes before starting production.
Reapply as needed during production, then heat for 30 seconds before resuming production. Avoid excessive spraying, which can cause buildup. Determine the reapplication interval under the intended molding conditions.
