TRA-1 Bladder Release Agent

Purpose and application

TRA-1 is a water-based, semi-permanent release and lubricating agent for rubber curing bladders. It is used during vulcanization of products such as bias-ply tires, radial tires and air springs.

The heat-reactive coating supports release, slip and air evacuation while helping protect the bladder and improve the molded surface appearance. One application can support multiple production cycles; the number of cycles depends on the process and should be established in use.

Application guidance

Stir thoroughly before use. Clean the bladder before the first application to remove dust, oil and residual release agent. Apply evenly to the rubber bladder by spray or brush before vulcanization.

TRA-1 can be used as supplied or diluted with deionized water to suit the process. Confirm the dilution and reapplication interval through production trials.

Storage

Store at 5–45°C in a ventilated area, away from ignition sources. Small amounts of hydrogen may form during storage. Avoid freezing and prolonged exposure to higher temperatures, which can reduce stability or performance.
