Chemlok 608 One-Coat Silicone-to-Metal Adhesive

Chemlok 608 is a one-coat adhesive for bonding unvulcanized silicone elastomers to rigid substrates. It is intended for peroxide-cured VMQ, PMQ, and PVMQ compounds, including silicone systems that require post cure.

Single-coat application reduces the number of coating steps. The adhesive resists many aggressive service environments and can be highly diluted for uniformly thin application.

For metal substrates, remove oils, grease, rust, scale, and oxide coatings by suitable chemical or mechanical preparation.

Chemlok 608 is best applied as a dilute solution. The recommended dilution is 5–10 parts methanol to 1 part Chemlok 608 by volume; the dilution ratio depends on the rubber compound, substrate and performance requirements. Use dry alcohol solvents and avoid moisture contamination.

Apply a uniformly thin coat and air-dry for 10–30 minutes at room temperature before further processing.
